Jennifer Carter - also known as Lieutenant Jennifer Carter - is one of the main characters in the movie "War of the Worlds: Goliath". She is ocassionally hit on by fellow soldier Patrick O'Brien, but she brushes him off as she instead is in love with Captain Eric Wells.
Originating from the United States, Jennifer comes from a wealthy family as her father is the owner of two railroads. However, her relationship with her father is strained as her father viewed her as his 'property' - to be what he wanted her to be, to marry whom he wanted her to marry, etc.
Jennifer states that she saw the situation differently and set out on her own path; joining A.R.E.S and awaiting the day of the Martian's return.

Jennifer Carter also appeared on the front cover of the American fantasy and science fiction comic magazine Heavy Metal for their "War of the Worlds Special" (Volume 35, Issue 5), which contained six stories to tie in with the animated film.
The version of Jennifer that appears on the front cover is wielding a Portable Heat Ray Cannon (similar to how she briefly used the weapon in the Martian Factory in the film to save Abraham from the Handling Machine) during the Battle of New York. Her outfit is heavily damaged, with her pants ripped from the thigh on her right leg and her white top extensively damaged as her midriff is exposed and her breasts are barely covered.
