The War of the Worlds is a 2011 single-player side-scrolling 2D action-adventure video game based off the classic War of the Worlds film and H. G. Wells novel developed by Other Ocean Interactive and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was released on Xbox LIVE Marketplace (or XBLA) and PlayStation Network (PSN) in October, 2011 for the platforms Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 respectively.
Plot[]
The game “tells the story of one man’s experience during an alien invasion of 1950s London” where the player must escape the alien invaders and survive the onslaught as himself attempt to save your family.
Other Ocean Interactive, the game development studio, said that The War of the Worlds will have the player save character's family from the Martian invader's army of alien tripods, spiders and drones.

The War of the Worlds is being developed by Other Ocean Interactive who also announced that Patrick Stewart, a distinguished actor will star voice of The Narrator for the game so well said their participation in development:
“As a young boy, I remember watching the The War of the Worlds so many times I was quoting the lines. The alien invasion both terrified and fascinated me and the movie has stuck with me since then. Now, being part of this project will provide a new way for gamers around the world to experience a fresh new take on a classic.”
The studio said that the game introduces a new story arc, characters, locations and sub-plots. Also, said that the game mechanics will pay homage to classic "cinematic platformers" such as "Flashback" and "Out of This World,".
