A Martian Constrictor is a vehicle that traps enemies in a chemical foam and destroys Human Forces with a Heat Ray Cannon. It appears in Jeff Wayne's expanded universe alongside other original Martian Machines such as the Xeno-Telepath and the Tempest.
Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds (1998 Video Game)[]
The Constrictor's foam - despite been described as having 'devastating consequences' - does not do any damage to opponent. Instead, it simply paralyzes any enemy unit or gun, requiring other units to back them up regarding finishing off the paralyzed enemy. The Constrictor itself boasts considerable speed as it's almost as fast as a Fighting Machine. Furthermore, it is durable enough to lock onto an Ironclad and get close enough to spray them with their foam before been destroyed.
Information[]
"The constrictor can dispense a chemical foam which encases its targets and rapidly hardens. at short range these can be discharged at an enemy vehicle with devastating consequences."

The Constrictor appears in the final level in Scotland as a boss battle, protecting the Martian Elders. When it initially
appears, it is surrounded by a purple shield that prevents the player from shooting it from a distance and forces them to engage it at close range - at which point the shield drops and the Constrictor enters battle. The Constrictor battles by firing twin explosive canisters and shooting its enemy with a Heat Ray. Once the play destroys these weapons, the Constrictor will explode. However, another Constrictor will appear after a set amount of time, with the player needing to destroy them to temporarily take down the shields protecting the Martian Elders.
